A Day in the Life: Crafting Airbnb Listings That Shine

Hi, Weda here! Ever wondered what it’s like to work behind the scenes of those dreamy Airbnb listings you scroll through while planning your vacation? Well, let me take you on a quick tour of my daily routine as a Content Creator & Digital Marketer at Bukit Vista.

Starting the Day with Morning Sync-Up

Every day starts with a morning sync-up. It’s like the marketing team’s morning coffee but with goals and priorities instead of caffeine (although coffee is still a must for me!). The team gathers to align our expectations and tasks for the day. It’s a great way to stay on the same page and ensure we’re working efficiently.

In the marketing team, we handle two major funnels: Partnership and Guest. My role focuses primarily on the Guest side. That means I deal with the properties listed on platforms like Airbnb and Booking.com, making sure everything is set up to attract and delight potential guests.

The Three Pillars of My Work: Launch, Optimize, Remove

My work revolves around three key tasks: launching new listings, optimizing existing ones, and removing those that are no longer active. Let’s break it down:

1. Launch: Giving New Properties Their Big Debut

Launching a new listing is like preparing a grand opening for a shop. When a new property joins our portfolio, I dive into creating the listing from scratch.

  • Photos: I select the best pictures to highlight the property’s charm—whether it’s the cozy bedrooms, stunning pool, or breathtaking view.
  • Descriptions: Crafting words that not only inform but also inspire guests to imagine themselves staying there.
  • Details: Amenities, location, pricing, and everything else guests need to know.

The goal? Accuracy and attraction. A listing should look professional yet feel welcoming enough for guests to hit that “Book Now” button.

2. Optimize: Keeping Listings Fresh and Relevant

Optimization is where I step in to keep older listings in tip-top shape. For example, if an owner tells us they’ve added a shiny new TV or upgraded the Wi-Fi, I update the listing with this new information.

But optimization isn’t just about adding features; sometimes, it’s about simplifying. If a listing mentions something that’s no longer there, I remove it to ensure accuracy. Guests appreciate transparency, and that’s what I aim for.

3. Remove: Saying Goodbye to Listings

Not all partnerships last forever, and that’s okay. Some owners sell their property, while others decide to stop renting it out and move back in. My job here is to remove the listing and ensure the offboarding process runs smoothly.

It might sound sad, but it’s part of the lifecycle of property management. Every end opens up room for new beginnings, like onboarding a fresh, exciting villa.

Why I Enjoy This Work

While my background is in accounting, this internship has shown me how much I love being creative and detail-oriented in a dynamic field like hospitality. Each task, from launching listings to optimizing and removing them, feels like contributing to a bigger story. These listings aren’t just properties—they’re places where guests create memories, and being part of that process is fulfilling.

Wrapping Up

And that’s a glimpse into my daily life as a Content Creator & Digital Marketer at Bukit Vista! Whether it’s launching a stunning villa, tweaking a listing to perfection, or gracefully saying goodbye to a property, every day is a new adventure.

There are more than that actually, some things that doesn't directly involved in Airbnb are

  • Property photoshoot
  • Infographic design
  • Newsletter
  • Blog
  • etc.

If you’ve ever stayed in a well-curated Airbnb in Bali, who knows? Maybe it was one of the listings I worked on!

Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more of my internship journey.
