How Did I Get Here? | The Beginning

Hi, I’m Weda, your not-so-passionate young lad, just trying to thrive in this sometimes cruel but equally awesome world. Today, I want to share the story of how I ended up at Bukit Vista, a hospitality company with an acceptance rate lower than some top universities – just 1.46%!

The Beginning: A Metatah Ceremony and a Letter

It all started in January 2024, during my Metatah Ceremony, a traditional Balinese rite of passage. Amid the vibrant cultural rituals, something unexpected arrived—a letter inviting me to attend a four-day trial at Bukit Vista. This was for my MSIB Batch 6 internship, and honestly, I was both excited and nervous.

Fast forward to the trial days, I wasn’t in my best condition (a bit under the weather), but I gave it my all. To my delight, I was accepted as a Content Creator and Digital Marketer. Starting on February 1st, my internship lasted until the end of June. At that time, I was in my 6th semester, which was earlier than usual, as internships are typically done in the 7th semester.

A Surprising Second Chance

After finishing the program and returning to campus, I realized I’d need another internship later to fulfill my academic requirements. So, why not try applying to Bukit Vista again? To my surprise, I was accepted for the second time! That moment marked the beginning of another chapter in my journey with this amazing company.

Closing Thoughts: Grateful Being Accepted

Getting into Bukit Vista not just once but twice felt like an incredible achievement, especially considering their competitive acceptance rate. It’s been a challenging yet rewarding experience that I’m truly grateful for.

So, that’s the story of how I got here. Thanks for reading!
